A Saga of the Year 3000

According to E! Online, Isaac Hayes wants out of his contract with “South Park” for what he calls “inappropriate ridicule of religious communities.” Basically, he’s fucking pissed about the episode posted below, which deals with Scientology. It also has many funny moments with R Kelly and the "Trapped in the Closet" series we all love so well around the Showcase's home office.

Hayes has been a longtime Scientologist, and as Matt Stone said: “This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology," Stone told the Associated Press. "He has no problem--and he's cashed plenty of checks--with our show making fun of Christians."

Oh well. His loss. "South Park" has, amazingly, kept up with fresh satire each and every week for so long it kind of boggles the mind. (Even if I don't get to see it that often.) Just think about the John Travolta in this episode. It made me piddle.

As an aside, everyone knows my (Drew's) feelings about them Scientologists (they're cuckoo bananas and potentially very dangerous). Check out the episode below, followed by helpful linkage.

Hilariously true.

The E! Story About Hayes

The recent Rolling Stone cover story (brilliant).

The 1991 TIME Magazine Cover story: “The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power”.

L Ron didn't believe in Christ (neither do his followers).
